175th Lobethal Celebration
Today's the Community of Lobethal celebrated its 175'th birthday. I was honoured to show His Excellency the Honourable Hieu Van Le AC, his wife Mrs Lan Le and many dignitaries through the Lobethal Museum which houses the oldest Lutheran Theological College in the Southern Hemisphere.
Adam Weinert (Lft. Col Rt). Both Chairman of the Museum and of the 175th organising committee opened a memorial with the Governor in honour of the first 18 families who pioneered the settlement of Lobethal, in South Australia.
I shared with the Governor, the showcasing of the oldest collection of the complete works of Dr Martin Luther, printed in 1567.
The Lutheran Church service, and official opening carried record crowds of over 800 people.
