Did you know in Australia:

More women volunteer than men? 30.7% vs 28.5%

• Over 6.676 million people volunteered in the four weeks prior to the 2019 GSS survey.

• This is 33.4% of the population.

• 50% of Volunteers contributed 50+ hours a year of service

Did you also know that:

• One in four Australian adults are lonely.

• One in two (50.5%) Australians feel lonely for at least one day in a week, while one in four (27.6%) feel lonely for three or more days.

Today I reached a personal milestone of having contributed 5,000 hours of volunteering (over 25 years) and its enriched my life to no end.

Help your neighbour, join a club, teach others your skills, join a service organisation, the more you give the more you realise you are actually receiving – it’s a win-win.
